ABOUT THE ARTIST

Hannah Stippl's artistic practice focuses on painting and horticultural installations. The repetitive structure of her works evoke an ambiguous impression of nature.

Her study of plants goes beyond their aesthetic consideration and includes cultural, ecological and aspects of art history.

Stippl's work fuses the love for pattern with a deep interest for landscapes. In addition to her artistic practice, she had been teaching in the Department for Landscape Design at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna.

During recent years she started to concentrate on large format wall paintings, inspired by natural structures mixed with floral patterns of wallpapers.

Her aim is to open up new spatial dimensions, to make painting a three-dimensional visual experience.
