ABOUT THE ARTIST
Chloe Reynolds graduated from Leeds Arts University in 2017, specialising in painting.

Reynolds has exhibited throughout the UK and internationally, working in New York for a month with ChaNorth residency programme. Currently she is working towards applying to a MFA.
​
Reynolds paints from the photographic image and is interested in how visual language changes from medium to medium. Primarily she works from found black and white photographs and aims to integrate the past and the present using the material qualities of paint. The photographs, dating from the 1950s-70s.
​
Her paintings highlight and exaggerate implicit power structures—between adult and child, man and woman—observed from the photographs. Figurative painting is core to Reynolds's practice, as is humour. She uses the latter as a way to connect with the viewer, and employs overt puns as titles to suggest themes.

Aon Community Art Award 2017
Aon Community Art Award
In 2015, as Aon moved into its new global headquarters in London, The Leadenhall Building, the Aon Community Art Awards programme was born, bringing together our focus on community and talent development.
The programme supports young artists graduating from three UK art schools - Glasgow School of Art; Leeds College of Art; and Manchester School of Art - helping them to transition from student life to the commercial art world.

The programme provides workshops and mentoring for the artist for a period of one year, while their art is exhibited in Aon's client suite, for clients, colleagues and around 400 visitors a day to see. At the end of the 12-month period, the artwork is sold via an online and live auction, with all proceeds going back to the artist.
